The Emporio Armani EA4222U is a full-rim cat eye sunglass, shown here in colour 5017/87: shiny black acetate across the front with a polished finish, and matching temples. It is part of our Emporio Armani sunglasses range, and sits with the rest of our cat-eye sunglasses.
Who the EA4222U suits
This is a medium-sized frame, which fits best on medium-width faces. Acetate holds colour with depth, so the finish reads richer than a coated frame. The bridge is a universal fit, and the fitting is wide across the front. Emporio Armani lists the shape as flattering on oval, heart and square faces. It is a women's frame, and sits with the rest of our women's sunglasses.
Lens and UV protection
The EA4222U ships with dark grey bio-based polyamide lenses, a solid tint that darkens evenly across the whole lens. At 12.4% light transmission it is a dark tint made for bright sun and open glare, and still fine for driving. Every lens blocks 100% of UVA and UVB - full UV400 protection.
Size and fit
The size code reads 56-18-140: a 56mm lens width, an 18mm bridge and 140mm temple arms. Lens height is 48mm and the frame measures 131mm hinge to hinge. Does the EA4222U come with lenses?
Yes. It arrives with Emporio Armani's own dark grey sun lenses fitted and ready to wear straight out of the box. If you would rather have your prescription in them, we can do that too - message us on WhatsApp and our team will talk you through the options.
What size is the EA4222U?
56-18-140, which is a 56mm lens, 18mm bridge and 140mm temples, a medium-sized frame. Check the inside of the temple arm on a pair you already own; the same three numbers are printed there.
Is the EA4222U polarised?
No. These lenses are tinted and carry full UV400 protection, but they are not polarised - and a tinted lens is not the same thing as a polarised one. If glare off road and water is your main concern, message us on WhatsApp and we'll point you at the polarised models we stock.

Changed your mind? Frame orders can be returned or exchanged within 7 days of delivery, and return shipping is free — by courier or at either of our Dehradun boutiques. The item needs to be unused, with its original tags and packaging intact; once it passes inspection, your refund is issued. As prescription lenses are made specifically for you, orders with fitted lenses are final sale.
